Here are just some of the things you can experience here in Sabah:

1. Experience local culture

There are over 30 ethnic groups here in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo and each with their own uniqueness. The locals are also known for their friendliness and generosity to share their culture with others.

2. Island hopping

Sabah has some of the most beautiful islands around, and most of them are easily accessible and located just off the coast of Kota Kinabalu City.

3. Diving

Take a dive into the deep blue of Sabah’s underwater world. Some of the world’s top dive spots are located in the expanse of the protected marine parks right here for you to explore.

4. Visit conservation centres

There are two well-known and responsibly operating conservation centres in Sabah that are located in Sandakan where you can learn more and observe the endangered orangutans and Bornean sun bears.

5. Wildlife safari

Since Sabah is blessed with wildlife wonders, it is only right that you visit the state to experience a wildlife safari excursion. This can be done in the East Coast of Sabah where the wildlife thrives.

7. Quad biking

Enjoy a scenic tour of the countryside as you ride a quad bike up and down slopping hills, past quaint village settlements and rivers in Kiulu.

6. White Water rafting

If you are a thrill seeker, then you should try out white water rafting. Choose between Kiulu River for beginners and people of all ages, or Padas River with its more extreme and challenging rapids.

8. Exploring the city

Both lively cities of Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu have their own unique offerings and should be explored if you have the time.

9. Climb Mount Kinabalu

Besides white-water rafting and quad biking, adventure seekers should definitely have this on their bucket list. You will be on top of the world!

10. Birding

If you are an avid birder, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo has a collection of avifauna for you to discover, some of which are even endemic to the state alone and can be found nowhere else.

11. Shopping

If you enjoy shopping, Kota Kinabalu City has a couple of shopping malls to check out with brands both local and international to satisfy your shopping needs.
